Are you ready for NS City Tour? 🎉

In November 1926, Thomas Mann, Germany's most famous 20th-century author, lamented in a speech to the liberal democratic party how far Munich had drifted to the right since before the war. He described watching the city's "healthy and cheerful spirit" being "poisoned by anti-semitic nationalism," until it was denounced across Germany and abroad as a "stronghold of reaction" and even "a truly stupid city." Seven years later, Mann had to flee when the Nazis seized power. Munich, once the liberal heart of the German Empire and a magnet for artists, philosophers and scientists from across Europe, was now the "City of the Movement," where the Nazi Party had been founded in 1919 and Hitler had begun his career.

🤔 WHAT DOES THE EVENT LOOK LIKE?
• It took 12 years of murder and madness till the ruins of the once „shining city“ was liberated by the US-Army.
• We will go to the most important locations and answer questions like:
• How did Munich become the breeding ground of far right after WWI?
• What role did Munich’s high society play in the rise of National Socialism?
• How was life in Munich between 1933 and 1945 and what role did the city play for the Nazi propaganda?
• Sunday, 11.10.2026, 3pm: We’ll meet in front of Hofbräuhaus and the tour will end at Königsplatz. The tour will take place in any weather and a registration is not necessary.
