Dear international students,

do you want to escape the daily university grind or exam stress? Then join us for an unforgettable hike through the impressive landscape of Saxon Switzerland — the German section of the breathtaking Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxony. This area is Germany’s only rock-formation national park and a true paradise for nature lovers and hikers. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience stunning scenery and discover one of Germany’s most fascinating regions. Whether you’re an avid hiker or simply want to spend time outdoors, you can look forward to fresh air, spectacular views, and great company.
We will meet at 7:00 a.m. at the main train station in Halle (Saale) and catch the 7:21 a.m. train. The hike begins at 10:35 a.m. in the town of Wehlen.
The hike takes about 4–5 hours, giving us plenty of time to enjoy nature (especially the famous Bastei Bridge), take photos and chat along the way.

What to bring:
- Water (at least 3 l), snacks/lunch
- Comfortable hiking shoes
- Cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Deutschlandticket and ID
- 5,-€ card/cash –we need to take the ferry twice and buy tickets for it (one way approx. 2,-€)

Hike difficulty:
Moderate – includes some uphill sections
