ESN Halle goes Wartburg
Dear international students,
Do you love stories about dragons, knights, and queens? Come with us to Wartburg Castle in Eisenach!
This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the most well-known castles in Central Germany and holds a lot of historical and cultural significance for the country. It's where St. Elizabeth of Hungary resided, Martin Luther translated the New Testament of the Bible and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe found inspiration in both the castle and its surroundings.
During the guided tour, which we’ll do together with students from ESN Jena, you'll learn about this and much more as we explore the castle and visit its museum. Afterwards, we'll enjoy the view of the castle from an observation platform and end the afternoon in Eisenach.
