Dear international students,

The Weimar Republic? Goethe, Schiller, Herder? If these names ring a bell for you or if you are interested in culture in general, our trip to Weimar is the perfect opportunity to learn more about this city which has shaped German cultural history like few others!
On arrival in Weimar, we will visit the “Haus der Weimarer Republik” museum with many interesting insights into the first democracy in Germany. We will then have a picnic in the magical park on the Ilm, constructed with influence by the famous German writer Goethe. You can either bring something to eat yourselves or get a snack in Weimar. Hopefully well-nourished, we will then give you a tour of the beautiful old town with some interesting background information on the different facettes of Weimar!

What should you bring?
Deutschlandticket, student ID, weather-appropriate clothing, enough to drink and if you want a picnic blanket and something nice to eat (you can also buy food in Weimar)

When?
14th of June 2026, 9:00 a.m.
We will take the train to Weimar together, so please be on time :)
