See Freiburg at its best—join us for the Schönberg Hike (11 km) followed by a wine tasting!

We’ll meet at 12:00 p.m. in Freiburg. This is where our Schönberg Hike begins, taking us past Jesuitenschloss Castle and the ruins of Schneeburg Castle to Freiburg-St. Georgen. We’ll then hike through the vineyards of the “Steinler” site in St. Georgen, which serve as the “gateway to the Markgräflerland wine region.”

Andreas Vögele will accompany us on the tour and share lots of interesting facts about viticulture. In the vineyards and at the “Winzerhaus Sankt Georg,” we’ll sample five different wines grown on the Schönberg during a tasting.

After the wine tasting, we’ll return to the city by bus and tram.

Note: This is an 11-km hike, so please bring appropriate footwear and clothing. There is no opportunity to buy food or drinks during the hike; please pack both in sufficient quantities.

Participation fee includes a 5-wine tasting and guided hike / excludes transportation costs.
