Join Us for a Day in the "City of Christmas" – Strasbourg! 🎅🎄

Bonjour!

We invite you to join us and other Southwestern ESN Sections for a magical day in Strasbourg, the precious "City of Christmas." We will explore one of the most popular Christmas markets in the beautiful old town of Strasbourg, where you can savor delicious regional food and warm up with Glühwein or punch. There will also be a scavenger hunt to make the day even more exciting!

Important Information:

  • Bring your ID/passport, as we are crossing the border.
  • Bring your Deutschlandticket (if you have one).
  • You need your own train ticket for the journey.

Travel Details:

We will take the RE2 from Karlsruhe Hbf to Appenweier, then change to the SWE RB25 to Strasbourg.

🚫 Note:
We will not transfer in Kehl to the tram to Strasbourg, as it takes longer and doesn’t save much money.
The ticket for the tram is not valid on the SWE RB25 train.

Ticket Information:

All ticket details are provided to the best of my knowledge, but they are not guaranteed to be accurate.

Case 1: You Have a Deutschlandticket
  1. Open the DB app and enter "Kork" to "Kehl" as your journey.
  2. Select the correct date and timeframe.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    - Europass 24h Mini: €6.80
    - Europass 24h-Family Mini: €11.20 (valid for two people).
Case 2: You Don’t Have a Deutschlandticket, but You Have a Student Card with a Valid KVV Certificate
  1. Open the DB app and enter "Achern" to "Kehl" as your journey.
  2. Select the correct date and timeframe.
  3. Choose one of the following:
    - Europass 24h: €9.60
    - Europass 24h-Family: €14.50 (valid for two people).

Additional Information:
- Your KVV certificate is only valid until Bühl (Baden).
- The Europass is valid starting from Achern.

You will need additionaly:
1. A ticket from Bühl (Baden) to Achern: €3.20 (outbound).
2. A ticket from Achern to Bühl (Baden): €3.20 (return).

Case 3: You Don’t Have a Deutschlandticket and no student card with KVV certificate (e. g. you are not studying in Karlsruhe)
  1. Purchase a Baden-Württemberg ticket.
  2. Purchase the ticket listed in Case 1 for crossing the border to Strasbourg.
