Early Morning Hike – Bille Valley Nature Reserve 🌄🌿

Let’s kick off June with a peaceful early morning hike through the beautiful Bille Valley Nature Reserve! This time, the trail is a bit longer – 18.7 km, our longest yet. It’s absolutely doable, but we’ll be out longer than usual, so good stamina and preparation are key.

We’ll take the S2 from Hamburg Hbf to Aumühle (running every 20 minutes), where the hike begins.

The Plan

06:00 Meet at Hamburg Central Station

Take the S2 to Aumühle (~30 min ride)

Start hiking through the Bille Valley – enjoy the forest, streams, and scenic nature paths

Distance: 18.7 km

Duration: ~5.5–6.5 hours with breaks

After the hike (optional):

Relax with a coffee at a nearby café

Visit Schloss Reinbek, just around the corner

What to Bring

Deutschlandticket or valid train ticket

Sturdy hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing

Enough water and food/snacks – there will be few or no opportunities to buy anything along the trail

Optional: thermos with coffee or tea
