Like every summer ESN organizes a canoe trip also this year, this time on the Old Rhine. With our canoes we will go from Istein to Neuenburg while having a lot of fun! The whole day we will be exposed to the beautiful nature, starting in the southern Black Forest all the way to the Rhine plain. After the first half we will have a lunch break - please bring your own food for this. We recommend this event especially to those who like doing sports in summer.

WHEN: Sunday 17.07.2022 at 9:25 at Freiburg Hbf, platform 2

PROGRAM:
10:45 Arrival at the canoe launch site in Istein (receiving life jackets and instructions)
11:00 Departure with canoes
ca 16:00 Arrival in Neuenburg, return to Freiburg

PRICE:
20€ with ESNcard, 25€ without ESNcard

The price includes the whole canoe logistics (life jackets, boat transport, waterproof barrels for storing your personal belongings, etc.). Please do not bring super big backpacks as they might not fit in the barrel.
IMPORTANT: We will travel to Istein by train. This route is included in the semester ticket; otherwise we recommend the normal 9€ ticket: https://www.bahn.com/en/offers/regional/9-euro-ticket-en.

WHAT TO BRING!!
● Enough water/drinks: There are no stores along the route open on Sundays.
● Sun protection: We will be on the water for 5h; kind reminder for a sunscreen and a hat/cap.
● Mosquito protection (Autan or any similar spray against mosquitoes)
● Snack (Lunch Box): Please bring food (sandwiches) for the whole day.
● Face mask for the train ride.
● (Recommended) Swimwear: It is recommended to wear clothes that can get wet :) Swimming is possible at any time.
● (Recommended) Waterproof camera, if you have one :)

The event is not wheelchair accessible.
