Basel is known for its large number of museums. The well-known “Kunstmuseum” (art museum) can be visited this Sunday for free! The river Rhine is also very attractive, especially in good weather. Like many Swiss cities, Basel has a lot of modern architecture. While on the south side of the Rhine you can see the old town, on the north side you will find modern buildings such as the Messplatz.
You can either bring your own lunch or buy something in Basel.
Recommendation: Switzerland is not an EU country, so there is no Euro roaming. Therefore, if you want to save on mobile phone charges, you should download maps in advance (Google offline maps) to save your mobile data. In the meantime the prices have however become bearable, about 5€ for 50 MB.

09:00 Meeting point at Freiburg main train station, Gleis (platform) 4
10:00 Arrival in Basel Bad Bahnhof
Ca. 10:15 - 12:15 Uhr: City tour of the Mittlere Brücke, Spalentor, Münster, Basler Pfalz
Ca. 12:30: Lunch
Ca. 13:00: Kunstmuseum (art museum) or similar / free exploration
Ca. 17:00 Ferry accross the Rhine if you want (cost: ca. 2 CHF)
17:45: Meeting Point at Basel Bad Bahnhof
17:58: Departure at Basel Bad Bahnhof (18:40 arrival at Freiburg Hbf)

Cost: 10€. 6€ with ESNcard. This includes the train to and from Basel outside the Semesterticket zone.

If you are not a student, please buy your own tickt for the trip, our group ticket is not valid. (RVF Zone 3)

The event is wheelchair accessible. Please remember to bring an FFP2/medical mask.
