Get ready for our second weekend trip of the semester: This time, we’re going to Belgium🇧🇪
Join us from Thursday, June 19th (a public holiday!) to Sunday, June 22nd for a four-day adventure across one of Europe’s most charming countries!
Here’s what you can look forward to:
• Explore Brussels – Belgium’s vibrant capital and home to the main European institutions 🇪🇺
• Sail through Ghent – a magical medieval city and Erasmus Destination of the Year 2023 ⛵️
• Discover Bruges – a picturesque medieval town with scenic canals, historic charm, and cozy cafés alongside waffles and fries! 🧇🍟
• Visit Antwerp – Belgium’s fashion capital, famous for the second biggest port in Europe ⚓️
• Relax at the coast – depending on weather conditions, we’ll take a sunny break in seaside Oostende ☀️
Accommodation
We’ll be based in Brussels at Hostel Generation Europe, staying in 4-person rooms with private bathrooms. A free breakfast is included on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings!
Transportation
To keep costs low and make the trip as accessible as possible, we’ll be using the Deutschlandticket to travel together from Germany to Aachen, and from there continue by Belgian IC trains.
• For those under 26, a one-way ticket from Aachen to Brussels costs around 12€.
• For the day trips, you can expect to spend around 30€ in total for train tickets.
• If you’re over 26, it’s a bit more—but still affordable thanks to the 10-ride group ticket option.
Prefer to travel faster?
If you’d rather organize your own transportation to Brussels (e.g., Flixbus or fast trains), just make sure to let us know when your planned arrival time will be, so that you can meet the group there.
We’ll share more info soon in the group about which apps to download and which trains we will be using, so you’ll be fully prepared!
