Excursion: Heppenheim & Bensheim
Join us this Saturday, the 18th of January for our first excursion of the year. We will be heading back to the Odenwald region for a tour of the charming towns of Heppenheim and Bensheim.
The Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II once said about this region: “This is where Germany starts to become Italy”, since the plants and fruits that are usually found in the Mediterranean region, such as almonds and peaches, grow on its rolling hills.
Keep your expectations within reason, as we’re going in the dead of winter, where none of this supposed Italianness can be seen.
What you can expect from the trip is colourful half-timbered houses, imposing churches and good wine.
Detailed itinerary will be posted.
Departure: 10:34 from platform 9, Frankfurt Central Station. Try to be there 10 to 15min earlier.
