“One thinks Heidelberg - with its surroundings - is the last possibility of the beautiful” — Twain

Join us this Saturday, the 16th of March, for the first day-trip of the semester.
Heidelberg is a lively university city, the first in all of Germany (1386), and a very popular tourist destination with Romantic ruins of a castle, a 300 year old stone bridge, and a charming Baroque Old Town.

Here’s a rough itinerary:
11:06: Train leaves Frankfurt
12:39: Train arrives in Heidelberg
13:00: Hauptstraße (Old Town)
14:00 – 15:45: Lunch Break
15:45: Castle
16:20: Gundel Bakery for Kurfürst’s Delight
16:30: Bridge
17:00: “Philosopher’s Path”

Note that lunch arrangements are not included in the itinerary. Participants are free to explore Heidelberg’s culinary offerings at their leisure during the lunch break.

For a local sweet treat, try the Kurfürst’s Delight, which is a sponge dough ball with a nougat cream filling, covered in marzipan and chocolate.

Departure: 11:06 from Frankfurt Central Station. Try to be there 10 to 15min earlier.

The booking period for this event is over.
