Excursion: Eltville
Join us this Saturday, the 20th of April, as we visit the high town of Eltville.
The town's name comes from a corruption of Alta Villa. It is now known for wine, sparkling wine, and roses. The charming medieval town centre with countless historic buildings, beautiful courtyards and a romantic promenade along the Rhine River is the perfect setting for a walking tour through quaint lanes in the footsteps of history.
Eltville has a castle from the 14th century, and timber-frame houses from the 16th and 18th centuries.
Note that lunch arrangements are not included in the itinerary. Participants are free to explore Eltville's culinary offerings at their leisure during the lunch break.
Departure: 10:53 from platform 23, Frankfurt Central Station. Try to be there 10 to 15min earlier.
