Join us going hiking in the natural Harz park a little South of Braunschweig. The Harz area is the most mountainous in northern Germany and offers some nice trails to walk on. The hike will be 12km long, but does not have too many ascends and descends, so you don't need to be an expert to do it. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes, hiking boots are not necessary but could be useful.
We will take the train from Braunschweig central station [Hauptbahnhof] in the morning. The exact meeting point is inside the train station in the entry hall in front of the Service desk. Please be on time [09:10 a.m.], as we have to catch a train.
Please bring your own water and food. Dehydration is dangerous.
About the hike:
The train ride will take about 45 minutes [1.5 hours back and forth], so we will arrive at about 10 a.m. and the route itself takes about three and a half for experienced hikers. Groups tend to hike slower, which is perfectly fine, but just expect that it might take a little or a lot longer than three and a half hours.
